An update to the Yast2 YOU frontend keeps showing up in my "available
updates" list and I see no reason not to put it in, but the attempt
yields:
Installation of
[S9:1][package]yast2-online-update-frontend-2.15.24-0.1.noarch failed:
(with --nodeps --force) Error: Subprocess failed. Error: RPM failed: cp:
cannot stat `/var/lib/YaST2/cd_update.desktop': No such file or
directory error: %post(yast2-online-update-frontend-2.15.24-0.1.noarch)
scriptlet failed, exit status 1 (with --nodeps --force) Error
Now, I know what the error says, but what is the missing file, how
should it get there, and why isn't it already (given a normal seeming
10.3 64-bit install)? I.e., what should I look for, either in file
structure or packages?
Thanks!
[Sorry if this belongs in another list, such as "applications", but it

DrD,
what if you run the update through Yast Online Update, not through the applet?
If that doesn't work, locate the rpm on an update server, download it and try
and install it with "rpm -Uvh filename"

Both the full Yast and the auto-updater fail on the "stat" error.
CLI is the next resort; sorry for forgetting that! KDE makes things too
easy! :)
I'll let you know.
The error sounds as if it is looking for some file that is not already
there and I have no idea where that file should have come from in the
first place.
Thanks,
