How to Renew openSUSE 10.3 Subscription

How to Renew openSUSE 10.3 Subscription
Sun, 16 Mar 2008 22:26:01 GMT
My openSUSE 10.3 account has been deactivated by Novell. I sent a
question about this to crc@novell.com, however I though I would raise
the issue here, just in case.

I have NOT had the product except since shortly after its release date,
far less than a year. For tech reasons I had to do a reinstall today,
and I can not get in to an update server, because when trying to do so,
I have to include my Activation Code. When I do that, I am told the code
is already associated with me, which is true. But it also shows the
account is suspended, and I can find to way to get a new AC or
reactivate the old one, but to buy another copy of the boxed product,
which I do not want.

All I want to do is but a new single user license for openSUSE 10.3. I
do not want to wait for another copy of the boxed product to arrive. I
do not NEED another copy of the damned boxed product!!!

I know Novell has lost it on the NetWare side of the house (on purpose,
IMHO). But has it now lost it on the SUSE side too? If so, what is
Novell about now? Committing suicide?

Hi
I think you are probably talking about activation for the 30 Days
installation support?

You don't need any activation for updates etc for opensuse 10.3, don't
setup an update server, install source etc during the install, do that
afterwards via YaST.
