hello! i have a problem with winmodem, softmodem an usb modem else! i have
installed OpenSUSE 10.3 in an ACER laptop and a customised desktop but in
both i can't connect internet!
so i have decided to buy an external serial modem, i need to know if the
following works in both computer or in the desktop at least :
HAMLET modem v.92 serial voice Conexant, model HV92KX2, type analogic,
connected to serial port (serial cable RS232, phone cable RJ11)
i wait for your help very urgent ( i can't use windows for internet and SUSE
for all other needs!)

That needs a closed source driver which isn't free.

thank you for first aid; now i should be happy to know how or where i can
buy that driver
better, does exist a list of external serial modem full compatible with
linux (OpenSUSE 10.3) and not out of production ?

Where's the time you didn't need a driver for a modem. You just made sure it
was Hayes compatible.
Seems like they took a step back, since I last used them.
