| Printer sharing with Windows |

I'm trying to set up a 10.3 box to share printers with 6-8 Windows machines
on a Samba network. The Win machines locate and set up the printers just
fine but the status shows 'access denied' (both W2K and XP). I've tried
every combo of rights setting and id/pw that I can come up with and Windows
still refuses to print with "access denied". Strange part of this is
that
a couple of windows apps manage to print just fine while others are
blocked. Any thoughts/howtos?

Samba usernames and passwords match the Windows clients usernames and
passwords? If not, access a share so it'll prompt you to authenticate,
then try to print.

If it were that simple! The situation is that in a single Win session, some
apps can print to the shared printer but others come up access denied.
Arrrgh!

How have you added the printer to the workstations? I've had the best
luck by adding as a local printer(don't autodetect), setup a new local
port for \\serverip\queue, then pick the correct driver.

OK, I see where this is going. Force the raw mode and set it up like an lpr
the way HP sets up my old HP4000 ethernet equipped tank at the office.
