communication with XP (samba)

Hello :-)

On my own net, I have two computers, one openSUSE, the other XP

one month ago I could open each one in the other explorer, now I can 
open the linux machine in the windows explorer, but no more the XP 
machine in Konqueror.

possible than this could be due to kernel update, but I do all the 
upadtes with zipper

any idea?

Better check if some of the late XP updates did not change XP's firewall 
settings.

Also, what do you mean by "open in konqueror"? Is it "network
browsing" 
that fails? Can you open the XP machien with:
smb://<ipaddress of xp>/<shared volume> ?

I *never* upadte XP, nor have any firewall on this computer

in smb:/ I find the group, but not the computer

*!!!!!!!!*

it was probably a kernel (or some other kind of zipper update) update 
that had problems because now it works...
