Network Manager crashing ...
Thu, 13 Mar 2008 20:56:01 GMT
openSUSE 10.3 on a Dell Latitude D830

Intel iwl4965 wireless card ... best I can tell, the driver works. I
got it from the openSUSE repositories. I can check for wireless
networks by 'su -' to root & then run iwlist scan ... I see the access
points.

I've set up Network Manager to start on boot up ... and its started
crashing. It also assumes that every Wireless Access Point is
encrypted, making it difficult to join any public WAP.

I've seen a few requests on the SuSE wish list for a different wireless
management application ... is there any hope of getting one that works
.. soon?

Why should there be a change? For my HP laptop with openSUSE 10.3 and a BCM4311
wireless card, NM
works perfectly. I even have used it to connect with a dial-up connection. I
would suggest that you
do a reload of all the NM components.
