broadband connection problem

Dear friends,

I have broadband internet connection in my house and I am using
opensuse 10.3 with windows xp in my pc. The broadband connection is
working fine with xp but when I am going to use it in opensuse it
doesnot work..The broadband connection has a router and I am using LAN
cards..I am using Yast to configure it and the network connection
automatically detect the ethernet card as etho0 by DHCP...but still I
cannot access the internet using firefox...please help me in this

Open up a terminal windows and do SU and log in a root. Then do
IFCONFIG, does eth0 show up? If so what does it say, does it have an IP
address? Can you ping your router?
